City of Djinns: A Year in Delhi by William Dalrymple is my fourth and final book for the #DiscoveringIndiaReadathon challenge for book based on any Indian city.

This book is a travelogue by William Dalrymple focusing on the historical capital of Delhi. He writes about his experience and encounters in Delhi during his stay here with his wife. He writes about his Sikh landlady, his Sikh driver, the survivors of partition, those Muslims trying to save their age old culture and Urdu in this rapid modernising city, the dervishes and the eunuch dancers, the ancient ruins. He writes about the riots after the assassination of Indira Gandhi.

Thank you Aritri Chatterjee , Ankita Daiya ,Padmaja Phatak and harpercollinsin for organising such and amazing readathon. It was a great fun and adventure exploring India through books. Hope we will have more such readathons in the coming future.
